What We Like About Stan James
Their odds are mostly competitive. They may not always have the best price for top markets, but they’re not far off in most cases, particularly when it comes to Irish and British sports. Punters who line shop will find value here. They’re one of the few bookmakers that give players more than a match bonus. Odds are excellent for most large market sports. When compared to other UK bookmakers or those operating worldwide, their margins are impressive. In-play betting was one of Stan James’ claims to fame, due to their early adoption of today’s can’t miss betting market. They don’t have quite as many live betting markets as other bookies, but for high profile matches and sports, there are a ton of options.
On the whole, they don’t offer quite as many sports as some bookmakers. However, based on their clientele, mostly those from the UK and Ireland, along with some Asian markets – we doubt there are too many complaints. If you’re looking for a sportsbook with endless markets on every sport on the planet – Stan James is not for you. If you’re interested in excellent pricing on British and Irish sports, and above-average odds on most other stuff, they’re as top option.
Lower Maximum Payouts
Stan James’ maximum payouts may seem relatively large for those in unregulated or grey markets, but they are quite small compared to other UK-based bookmakers. Football wagers on the top flight leagues, such as the English Premiership, La Liga, Champions League and internationals have a maximum payout out of £200,000. Other sports are capped at £100,000. Horse racing is slightly larger than football at £250,000. Props and non-sport markets, such as political or entertainment bets have a max of £25,000.
These maximum winnings aren’t too surprising considering how quickly they seem to be limiting or banning players. Stan James does offer excellent odds, but it doesn’t look like they let punters that have a clue win much off of them.
