Update 10/7/17: Potential Scam Warning

After numerous complaints and their payout issues not improving – we have added TopBet to our scam sportsbook blacklist. They should be AVOIDED until further notice. TopBet will likely not fall back into our good graces, but some players who have been waiting for six months for payouts have been paid. Unfortunately, the payments being sent out to players now may be the deposits that TopBet is receiving from this football season.

TopBet Review Summary

Sports Betting Site TopBet Logo

Top Bet originally premiered online in 2002, where they were a sportsbook that was on just about every blacklist online. After an awful track record of more than a decade and ties to noted scam artist FutureBet Systems, TopBet.eu surfaced in 2012 under new management. Though the sportsbook still operates with FutureBet’s platform for wagering, they handle their own payment processing.

Top Bet is one of the few sportsbooks that service US players that are based in Asia. The company’s offices and base of operations are in Manila, Philippines. However, they are still licensed offshore by the government of Curacao.

Is TopBet A Legit Sportsbook?

A Personal Opinion on TopBet

What We Don’t Like About TopBet

Even though FutureBet doesn’t do their payment processing, they still pay them royalties for using their platform. The fact that any money goes to FutureBet (they stole over $1 million from online gamblers over the past decade) is tough to stomach. FutureBet still has the ability to terminate their service at anytime, however. Their backend may also be vulnerable to security issues because of their connection to FutureBet. Yeah, that’s what we would call worrisome.

It’s not as if Top Bet is exceedingly trustworthy either. Though they haven’t received any complaints from players at SBR, their payout times don’t seem to be matching up with their quoted timeframes. Their Ripoff Report page also has several complaints. The most damning of them seems to be them issuing fraudulent checks. However, this has not been independently verified. Though, a running theme seems to be a difficult time getting answers from support and runarounds when it comes to payouts.

These guys are definitely guilty of slow-pays in some situations. To be fair, though, it’s important to note that it seems that all customers are being paid.  Since their reincarnation in 2012, there have been no reported no-pays, confiscation of balances or anything like that. SBR even increased their rating after the situation was taken care of within a matter of weeks.

TopBet Sportsbook Bonuses

$250 Sign Up Bonus

First-time depositors will be able to cash in on a 50% Bonus up to $250. This is a nice starter bonus that comes with a 5x rollover. This rollover is a middle of the road offer, but doesn’t bet the 3x rollover offer by some bookmakers.

10% Reload Bonus

The book also offers 10% reload bonuses on all subsequent deposits. These can be granted up to $100. Unlike the sign up bonus, the reload bonuses will only come with a 3x rollover. The caveat, of course, is that you must finish your rollover on previous bonus/deposit before you deposit again and get another 10% bonus.

Other Bonuses

They may also offer special reload bonuses for larger events, such as the Super Bowl, that will range between are usually between 20-25%. These can also extend to valued account holders for any reason. These offers are also code for “you’re losing a lot of money” at Top Bet and they want you to redeposit.

Sportsbook Promotions

Top Bet has an assortment of seasonal promotions depending on the time of year. They offer free bets on the Monday Night Football games and Thursday Night TNT Basketball contests provided that you $10.00 in your account. There is also a free wager available for Sunday Night Baseball. Bettors can win up to $100 on these free promotions.

The book also offers reduced juice odds for three hours a week for both NFL and college football. On Tuesdays, between 6 pm and 9 pm there are -105 lines offered on the college game and on Wednesdays, bettors will get the same pricing within the same hours for the professional game. Finally, through social media, Top Bet offers several contests and games on their Facebook and Twitter accounts. These competitions will also be rewarded with cash prizes.

TopBet Sportsbook Highlights

Betting Markets and Odds

Top Bet’s lion share of market and options will focus on US sports. Like most offshore bookmakers, the NFL is their bread and butter. They have the largest number of markets available for pigskin betting and it’s not close. Other major US sports are second, and we must say, for a smaller sportsbook, Top Bet’s oddsmakers must be busy. MLB, NBA, and NHL markets are plentiful each night and don’t stop at sides and totals. There are plenty of player and team props. The same goes for NCAA basketball and football, especially March Madness and Bowl Season, respectively.

There’s a fairly decent list of sports beyond that, but other than sides, totals, and some basic future wagers these markets weren’t anything special. These include soccer, both domestic leagues and international contests, golf, boxing, mixed martial arts, rugby, tennis, auto racing, and cricket. One unique aspect of Top Bet that few other oddsmakers offer is the ability to parlay proposition bets. This means you can parlay bets on player and team props together. This is rarely offered at other sportsbooks. It’s certainly the only site in the US market that currently allows parlays on propositions.

Aside from straight wagers and totals, the odds offered on parlays, teasers, and other bets like if-bets and reverses are just average. However, their odds on many props, futures, and via live betting are absolutely horrible. Top Bet should not be the site you bet these markets. You’re at a severe disadvantage. There may be some value to be had betting underdogs and unders at this sportsbook, because the vast majority of their clients are losing players and they’re betting on favorites and overs.

Recreational Limits

As we mentioned in the paragraph above, Top Bet is heavily focused on the recreational gambler. For that reason, and the amount of bets that they take in, their wagering limits will be a lot smaller than some of the larger offshore bookmakers. In fact, even compared to some lesser known books, TopBet has substantially lower limits, especially on smaller market sports.

The NFL and NCAA Football both have a max bet of $2,000 on sides and totals, but other sports have decidedly smaller maximums. Both the NBA and NCAA Basketball come with a $1,000 max on sides, but just a $500 max on totals. Baseball and hockey side and total limits max out at $500, which is also the max bet for other sports like soccer, golf, tennis, and auto racing.

Support

Top Bet does have a 24/7 support staff, despite their small size. We’ve had some mixed review on support from players, but they do seem to trending upward in terms of how they treat players and how quick they are at resolving problems. Bettors can contact TopBet through email, phone and live chat.

Limited Banking Options at TopBet

Top Bet’s banking menu is rather limited. They offer few options for both depositing and withdrawing. With that said, players should still have no issues finding a method that works for them. They accept deposits through Visa and MasterCard debit cards or credit cards. Person-to-person transfers, which they have listed as “Quick Cash” are also an option. These are sent via Western Union. Top Bet will reimburse players on transfer fees if the deposit is $300 or more.

They offer just two methods for withdrawals. Check by mail will be the most popular option for most players. These come with a $40 fee and a maximum amount of $2,500 per check. These are quoted by Top Bet to reach players in 8-10 business days. This seems about right based on the feedback we’ve received from customers, but some have complained about delays.

The other method, which is somewhat unique, is payment back to your credit or debit card. Other sites have a similar option, but this involves mailing a debit card to players which they can use for withdrawals. Top Bet processes withdrawals directly back onto players personal credit or debit cards. Payouts back to cards cost $40 per transaction and are capped at $2,400, the max amount for check withdrawals. They take 5-10 business days to process.

Avoid TopBet

TopBet should be avoided. They’re now our on sportsbook blacklist and should not be considered as an option. Players have been waiting 6 months or longer for payouts and they no longer offer Bitcoin.
